About Tatars

The Tatars are a large ethnic group with a rich history and culture, belonging to the large Turkic family, whose origins trace back to the Volga Bulgars and the Kipchak steppe.
They are a nation with a strong spirit, highly educated, preserving their traditions, while also being open to the world.
Tatar culture is known for its distinctive music, delicious cuisine, hospitality, and respect for elders.
Islam, intertwined with national customs, adorns the Tatars' way of life and strengthens their unity.
Today's Tatar people are a proud, hardworking, and esteemed ethnicity that presents its national identity with dignity on the international stage, while preserving its native language, independence, and sovereignty.

Our goal

In today’s world, the Tatar people are not limited to their historical homeland—they live in various corners of the globe.
We, the Tatars living in Japan, aim to preserve our national and cultural identity and to strengthen ties of kinship with Tatar communities living in other countries around the world.
